IVECO's eDaily Takes the Center Stage at the Brisbane Truck Show

IVECO has announced that the Brisbane Truck Show will witness the unveiling of the electric version of its iconic Daily model. The eDaily is IVECO's first-ever electric vehicle to be launched in the Australian and New Zealand markets. Attendees at the event will get an exclusive look at a validation unit of the eDaily before it undergoes local testing.

IVECO partnered with leading tertiary institutions, government agencies, and private enterprises to develop and launch the eDaily range in Australia. The collaboration aims to facilitate training, tooling, and explore recharging opportunities. Local engineering teams at IVECO Customer and Innovation Center (CIC) will play a significant role in validating the new range.

The show model is a 70C cab chassis with a 4350mm wheelbase and 7.2t GVM. The IVECO eDaily range is already available in several van and cab chassis models in other markets. Depending on the configuration, the eDaily range can have one, two, or three batteries with a combined capacity of up to 111kWh. The range can produce up to 140kW and 400Nm. The loaded drive range for local IVECO eDaily models will be up to 300 kilometers, which is one of the highest among all electric light trucks and large vans available.

The eDaily range will have multiple charging options, including a standard onboard 11kW AC charger, an optional 22kW onboard AC charger, or an 80kW DC fast charger. Sources say that the eDaily will have an impressive range even when fully loaded. Based on the battery options, the on-board chargers can reach full charge times of between three and nine hours, while DC fast charging can achieve more than 80% charge in under 1.5 hours.

IVECO assures eDaily owners that the electric range will be as user-friendly as the conventional daily range. Bodybuilders will not have to worry about fitting the electric components, as they sit within the conventional chassis with no protruding parts. The chassis itself carries the exact same body-mounting positions as the diesel product, ensuring body fitment remains easy.

IVECO ANZ Managing Director, Michael May, said that the eDaily is a key product in IVECO's decarbonization targets through a multi-energy approach, including a strong focus on electric propulsion. The vehicle is already showing strong acceptance in Europe, where it's ideal for congested city environments. May believes that eDaily will excel in these conditions locally, particularly in back-to-base operations.

Buyers will be able to choose from both cab chassis and van variants when the eDaily range is launched locally. To see eDaily, visit the IVECO stand (No. 58) at the Brisbane Truck Show, scheduled for May 18 to 21.
